American oak hardwood has prominent and beautiful
garin patterns and an inspiring acceptance of stain
and finishes.
American Red Oak has strength, wearability and appealing
grain characteristics. Its natural color is reddish-tan
to brown (very uniform). Widely distributed throughout the United States.
Oaks can reach a height of 125 ft (38 m), with large diameters. Durability:
Red oak is hard, has excellent wear resistance and
due to the coarser grain, takes more abuse and still look good opposed
to woods with finer grain. Since red oak accepts penetrating treatments
and finishes, it takes stain very well and can be finished to match
just about any color or finished natural.
